The Broadway at Birdland concert series has announced that cast members from Million Dollar Quartet, James Snyder, Billy Woodward, Christopher Ryan Grant, David Abeles, Zurin Villanueva, Billy Finn, will celebrate early rock and roll with a concert at Birdland on Monday, June 11 at 7pm.
On December 4, 1956, four of the most famous rockers of all time convened in the famous Sun Records Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash were all part of an impromptu jam session that was the basis for the Broadway hit, Million Dollar Quartet.
The Birdland cast all starred in the original and subsequent National tours of the show, and will celebrate with rock and roll standards and personal stories of their experience. Original band members will accompany the cast, including Larry Lelli on drums.
The Broadway at Birdland concert series takes place every week on the historic stage, located in the heart of Manhattan's Theater District.
