MICHAEL. AMY. WHITNEY. KAREN. KURT. Begins Next Week at The Duplex

The Duplex, the venerable Greenwich Village cabaret and piano bar, will present Michael. Amy. Whitney. Karen. Kurt., a new musical bio-drama about the life and music of Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Karen Carpenter and Kurt Cobain.

Part concert and part biographical drama, Michael. Amy. Whitney. Karen. Kurt. offers an insider's look at the life of each singer, with performances of the artists' biggest hits and a celebration of their shared legacy.

The cast of Michael. Amy. Whitney. Karen. Kurt. features Samantha Aneson (Taylor Mac's 24-Decade History of Popular Music, After the Fall at Playwrights Horizons) as Karen Carpenter, Jenni Lark (Truffles, Alice or the Scottish Gravediggers) as Amy Winehouse, Jesse Tyler Moore (Fiddler on the Roof, How The World Began at The State Theater) as Kurt Cobain , Jasmine Thomas (Barbra Streisand Back to Brooklyn Tour, Elton John at Radio City Musical Hall) as Whitney Houston and Jason Dwayne Wells (Showtime at The Apollo) as Michael Jackson.

Michael. Amy. Whitney. Karen. Kurt. is based on a concept by John Capo, producer of Showgirls! The Musical! and Bayside! The Musical!. The production is produced by Tony DeCicco. Music direction is by Greg Schlotthauer.
