METRO RETRO AT STREET GAMES 2010 will be presented Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. A rain date is schedule for Sunday, April 18, 2010.
The event will take place at Thomas Jefferson Park (114th Street between First Avenue and Pleasant Avenue).
Kids of all ages and their families can participate in urban classics, including hippity hop, stickball and yo-yoing. Stan’s Pepper Steppers will show New Yorkers the ropes with their double-dutch skills. Extreme Pogo-ers of Pennsylvania will demonstrate tricks and fun with pogo sticks and attendees can shoot hoops with former Knicks players Walt Frazier and
John Starks. The Dance Theatre of Harlem, local table tennis pros from SPiNYC, yo-yo experts and musical performances will entertain participants throughout the day. The King of Spring Showdown skateboarding competition will be presented by Open Road along with skateboarding clinics. NYC Water will be brought to the event by NYC’s Department of Environmental Protection.
