Writer/Producer/Director Dan Goggin has announced the release date for the new DVD MESHUGGAH-Nuns! the smash hit spin-off of his world famous Broadway musical comedy Nunsense. Those Little Sisters of Hoboken are back and the new DVD will be released nationally on April, 27th by Kultur International Films. The DVD release of MESHUGGAH-NUNS! is followed by the 25th Anniversary Revival of Dan Goggin's NUNSENSE at the Cherry Lane Theatre from June 15th through July 18th. It also and coincides with continued performances of the new musical SISTER ROBERT ANNE'S CABARET CLASS at several theatres across the United States and the current production of NUNSET BOULEVARD at the Chanhansen Theatre in Minneapolis.

MESHUGGAH-Nuns!, is a musical celebration of Catholic and Jewish traditions. The show finds the sisters on an all expense paid trip on the "Faith of All Nations" cruise. When the cast of Fiddler on the Roof (with the exception of the Tevye) gets seasick, at the request of the ship's captain, the sisters and Tevye put on a show. The result ...MESHUGGAH-NUNS! featuring songs like "Say it in Yiddish," "Contrition," "Matzo Man," and "If I Were A Catholic," among others.

One of the most successful musicals of all time, Dan Goggin's NUNSENSE will celebrate its silver birthday this summer with a 25th anniversary production presented by the Off-Broadway Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St. in Manhattan) -- where the hilarious musical comedy debuted Off-Broadway in 1985

NUNSET BOULEVARD is a brand new show that opened in November in the Chanhansen Theatre in Minneapolis. It is the seventh show in the Nunsense series to have become a hit. The production centers around a group of nuns who believe they are going to be in the Hollywood Bowl and find out it's merely a bowling alley.

SISTER ROBERT ANNE'S CABARET CLASS, which opened at Playhouse on the Green in Bridgeport, CT has proven to be an enormous hit. Every performance starring Deborah Del Mastro as Sister Robert Anne, with musical direction by Leo P. Carusone, has received a standing ovation. The "One-Nun-sense Musical" features songs introduced by Sister Robert Anne in the many Nunsense shows including two new songs from Goggin's newest musical Nunset Boulevard. Approaching the audience as a class of students interested in creating their own cabaret act, the premise allows for lots of audience interaction, and as in all the Nunsense shows, lots of humor. SISTER ROBERT ANNE'S CABARET CLASS has a 2nd company opening in Rochester in the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre on March 11, 2010 for an open-ended run.

In last 6 months there were 160 productions of Nunsense running. The original production of Nunsense debuted as a cabaret show at The Duplex in Greenwich Village, in September 1983. It has since been presented all over the world in over 8,000 productions (and counting) and grossed more than 500 million dollars.

Dan Goggin came to New York from Alma, Michigan to study as a singer. He sang in the Broadway production of "Luther" starring Albert Finney. He began writing, while appearing in a comic folk-duo called "The Saxons". The first show he wrote the music for was Hark. In 1986 Goggin received the Outer Critics' Circle Awards given to Nunsense for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Music. Nunsense, in addition to running 10 years in New York City, has now run in thousands of theatres around the world. There have been over 30,000 "nuns" in the Nunsense family. Goggin followed that with the off Broadway show Balancing Act, which ran at the West Side Theatre in NYC. Subsequent productions of Nunsense included Nunsense 2, Nunsense Jamboree, Nunsense A-Men!, Nuncrackers, Meshuggah-Nuns, and Nunsensations. Nunsense and Nunsense 2: The Second Coming, both starring Rue McClanahan have been videotaped for the A&E Television Network and also aired on PBS. Both shows won "Telly Awards." Nunsense 3: The Jamboree toured the U.S. starring Georgia Engel and has been recorded for television at the Grand Ole Opry starring Vicki Lawrence. The Nuncrackers television special playing the PBS network starring Rue McClanahan with guest star John Ritter, received an Emmy nomination for Best Musical Score.
