Mischievous musical comedy twosome MEL & EL return to their roots with an extra-gay-friendly edition of their raucous monthly extravaganza. Re-titled especially for the occasion, MEL & EL: OUR SORTA KINDA GAY TIME OF THE MONTH will take placeat 92YTribeca, 200 Hudson Street, NYC tonight, August 9th at 7:00PM.

Created and performed by funny femmes Melanie Kinard and Ellie Dvorkin with composer Patrick Spencer Bodd, MEL & EL: OUR TIME OF THE MONTH is like watching Amy Poehler and Tina Fey dish the dirt while singing naughty funny songs and telling sidesplitting stories. Hailed as “outrageous” by The New York Times and “hilariously squirm inducing” by the Village Voice, MEL & EL features new material every single month along with a special guest comedian, phenomenal food and drink deals, and a generous dose of in-your-crotch comedy.

This month’s edition will highlight comedy from their popular Atlantis cruise shows, and feature the gayest of the gay songs, such as GAY BOAT, FAGNET and SHIGGA DOO, as well as a special appearance by guest comedian BEN LERMAN (Logo TV, HERE TV).

MEL & EL have quickly become an NYC cult phenomenon. They enjoyed a year-long run of the critically acclaimed MEL & EL: THIS SHOW RHYMES, while their second show, MEL & EL: SHOW AND TELL premiered at Ars Nova to rave reviews. MEL & EL: GAY MARRIED headlined at Comix NYC and culminated in the pair being chosen as one of the Village Voice’s Best of New York. They were awarded the Backstage Bistro Award for their song "Fagnet", the Collaboration Award given by the NY Coalition of Professional Women in the Arts and Media and were recently chosen as GO Magazine’s Very Best in New York Comedy.
