Joe shared a name with his father (and grandfather, and great-grandfather) but he didn't share his father's love of the small Pennsylvania town in which they had both grown up. When he left to pursue his vague dreams of show business in NYC, Joe knew he'd never live in that small town again...and then he did live in that small town again...and what happened when he returned would challenge him and change him forever.
Joe Charnitski is a writer, performer and two-time winner of The Moth StorySlam competition. He has been featured on The Moth podcast and the Singleing podcast. He has performed at The Magnet Theater, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Atlas Performing Arts Center and other stages, bars, and living rooms throughout the country.
UNITED SOLO THEATRE FESTIVAL is an annual international festival for solo performances held at the Theatre Row in the heart of the New York City theatre district on 42nd Street, currently in its 9th season. Fiona Shaw called United Solo "the mecca of the solo shows in the world." Over 130 participants from six continents will present their shows every day from September 13 until November 18, 2018.
