54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, has announced Big River, Kiss of the Spider Woman and Mame as the next three musical scores to be celebrated in its acclaimed "54 Sings" series.
The fall installment of the series launches on September 14 with "54 Sings Big River." The one-night only event will play two performances at 7PM and 9:30PM. "54 Sings Big River" will star Daniel Jenkins, who earned a Tony nomination for his performance as Huck in the original 1985 production and then went on to star as Mark Twain/Voice of Huck in the acclaimed 2003 Deaf West Production, as well as Michael McElroy, who earned a Tony nomination for his performance as Jim in the 2003 production. The evening will also feature Jennifer Leigh Warren who will recreate her performance of "How Blest We Are," the song Miller wrote specifically for her to perform in the original Broadway production. Additional cast includes: Scott Coulter, Daryl Glenn, Rob Maitner, Christina Sajous, Jessica Vosk, Lennie Watts and Music Direction by Mark Hartman & The Muddy Water Quartet.
The series continues on Sunday, October 12 at 7PM and 9:30PM with "54 Sings Kiss of the Spider Woman." Inspired by the internationally best selling novel by Manuel Puig, this Tony Award winning score by John Kander and Fred Ebb features beautiful and haunting songs including "Where You Are," "I Do Miracles," "Dear One," and "Kiss of the Spider Woman." Cast includes Aaron Ramey, Nicholas Rodriguez and more to be announced.
"54 Sings Mame" returns to 54 Below on December 7 at 7PM and 9:30PM. Get the ice out and roll the rug up as 54 Below celebrates one of Jerry Herman's most beloved and tuneful scores including "If He Walked Into My Life," "It's Today," "We Need a Little Christmas," and "Mame." Cast includes Donna Lynne Champlin, Eric Michael Gillett, Annie Golden, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Dee Hoty, Beth Leavel, Lee Roy Reams and Music Direction by John McDaniel & the It's Today! Trio.
