M-34 and Cloud of Fools proudly present the World Premiere of ALL THAT DIES AND RISES, created and directed by James Rutherford, and choreographed by Laura Butler Rivera. ALL THAT DIES AND RISES runs from December 11 - 21, 2014 in a limited engagement at The IATI Theater, located at 64 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery in New York City.

Performances are Thursdays - Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm with additional shows on Sun 12/14 at 8pm and Sat 12/20 at 3pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at http://www.M-34.org.

M-34's James Rutherford (The Importance of Being Ernest Hemingway), fresh from assisting Peter Brook on The Valley of Astonishment, collaborates with physical theater ensemble Cloud of Fools (The Whistling Mortician) on ALL THAT DIES AND RISES, a theatrical experiment in the tradition of Grotowski and Meyerhold, finding ecstatic movement in the text of August Strindberg, Franz Kafka, Gertrude Stein and Charles Bukowski. ALL THAT DIES AND RISES is a hurricane of sweat and laughter, asking how we go on in the face of catastrophe.

M-34 has been featured in New York Magazine's Approval Matrix and their shows have been called "well worth the trip" (Back Stage), "excellent and well worth a viewing" (Broadway World), "a company willing to take risks and produce impressive work" (Theatre Is Easy) and "excellent... with tight acting and direction" (Out Magazine).

The cast includes Christopher Cancel, Camber Donahoe, Jon Froehlich, Rachel Kodweis, Maury Miller, Casey Robinson (Macbeth and Age of Iron at Classic Stage, Coney Island Avenue at NY Theatre Workshop) and Emily Viancourt.

The creative team includes Kristen Robinson (Set Design), Bruce Steinberg (Lighting Design), Olga Mill (Costume Design) and Alejandra Maldonado (Production Stage Manager).

James Rutherford (Director) is an international theater director and a founding member of M-34. His recent credits include The Importance of Being Ernest Hemingway (Access Theater), As You Like It (Classic Stage Company) and 4.48 Psychosis (Magic Futurebox). James assisted Peter Brook on his most recent production, The Valley of Astonishment, at Théâtre du Bouffes du Nord in Paris and Theatre for a New Audience in New York. He is an associate artist at Classic Stage Company and a guest director at the Stella Adler Conservatory. James has an MFA in Directing from Columbia University.

Laura Butler Rivera (Choreographer) has performed and offered theater workshops in Berlin, Japan, Romania, Italy, U.S., Australia, Colombia and Puerto Rico. She is an Artistic Director of One-Eighth Theater (Teach, Teacher, Teachest, UBU, The Proposal, and Cho H Cho developed at Mabou Mines), an associate member of CABORCA Theatre, and a co-founder of Cloud of Fools Theater Company (The Whistling Mortician and EUROPA).

M-34 is a fake mustache, a white phosphorus grenade, a star cluster and a crosstown bus. It is a rotating ensemble of young people attempting to be rigorous, critical and curious in a creative wasteland. They are lying in the gutter but looking at the stars.

Cloud of Fools Theater Company seeks to refresh in modern audiences around the world the sense of wonder, delight, mystery, and sheer kinesthetic possibility that comes with being human. They ask, "How Much Can We Create, From How Little?" Plumbing the deep wells of theatrical tradition from Eastern and Western Europe (and beyond), they create physical languages and "ensemble vocabularies" that have never been used before, in order to tell stories that transcend language, nation - and time itself. Cloud of Fools is Jon Froehlich, Susan Hyon, Laura Butler Rivera, and Casey Robinson.

The IATI Theater is accessible from the F train to 2nd Ave. or the #6 train to Bleecker St.
