Lyricist Susan Birkenhead Working on SECRET LIVES OF BEES & More for Broadway Next Year!

Yesterday, Peter Birkenhead wrote an article for the Daily Beast about his mother, lyricist Susan Birkenhead's, struggles that she had overcame, including escaping an abusive husband and raising four children on her own.

Susan Birkenhead, most known for her work on TRIUMPH OF LOVE, has three musicals that she is working on that will hopefully make their way to Broadway in the next year, including one with Duncan Sheik.

Her upcoming projects include: "Monsoon Wedding, a musical version of the great film by Mira Nair, who is also directing the Broadway production; The Secret Life of Bees, with composer Duncan Sheik; and a new take on the Max Fleischer cartoon Betty Boop."
