Lynn Redgrave Hosts 'An Evening Of Song And Healing' Benefit For Breast Cancer

"An Evening of Song and Healing," a concert to benefit the breast cancer program at New Milford Hospital-New York Presbyterian Regional Cancer Center, will take place Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Washington, CT.

Film and stage star Lynn Redgrave, a cancer survivor, will serve as mistress of ceremonies for the evening, which takes place at Bryan Memorial Town Hall, located in Washington Depot.

Ms. Redgrave wrote the text for "Journal, A Mother and Daughter's Recovery from Breast Cancer," featuring photographs by her daughter, Annabel Clark.

A wine and hors d'oeuvres reception, which will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., will feature music by Phil Hall, Laurence Sobel and Linda Wrenn.
Alecia Adams Evans, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in March and is currently undergoing treatment, is organizing the event and will be joined by numerous artists from Broadway and the opera arena.

Besides Ms. Adams Evans, other participating stars will include Byron Neese, who played Raoul in "Phantom of the Opera" on Broadway, and Joan Sobel, who portrayEd Carlotta in "Phantom of the Opera" during the show's national tour. Audience members will also be treated to
 operatic mezzo soprano Laura Mashburn, Wagnerian soprano Leslie Middlebrook, and journalist, sports commentator and breast cancer survivor Suzyn Waldman will be featured in the concert.

Others include cabaret veterans Valerie Lemon and Karen Arlington, and Broadway singer and breast cancer survivor Jennifer Rae Beck who recently performed in BroadwayWorld's Standing Ovations IV.

Award-winning actress Lenka Peterson will also present a reading by Noel Coward. The musical director for the concert is Mr. Hall.

General admission tickets are $25 for adults and free for children under 10.
Sponsorship tickets are also available for $100, $250 and $500. Tickets will be available at the door, or may be reserved by calling the First Congregational Church in Washington at 860-868-0569.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit New Milford Hospital's Cancer Center and breast cancer research.
