Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts has announced casting for its ESPA Drills Reading Series this August. ESPA Drills is an annual new play development program providing staged readings to four playwrights. The plays are workshopped under the guidance of the ESPA staff and will be presented before an audience of industry peers Off-Broadway at The Duke on 42nd Street.

Announcing the writers, directors and casts for the 2014 Series:

August 18 at 5pm
Mexico
by Rachael Jenison, directed by Jerry Ruiz

With David Anzuelo, Elizabeth Belonzi, Stephen Dexter, Jessica Luck, and John Wernke
When one man can't eat, and the other can't stop, there's sure to be an epic food fight.

A Small History of Amal by Amal, Age 7
by Lindsay Joelle, directed by Lisa Peterson

With Meetu Chilana, Sanjit DeSilva, Mahira Kakkar, Deepa Purohit, Debargo Sanyal, Vishal Vaidya, and Stephen Alan Wilson
It'll take a precocious seven-year-old and a little Bollywood magic for an atheist to make peace with the god of death.
