Luker Salutes Female Songwriters of Broadway at Feinstein's, Dec. 12-15

Rebecca Luker will take audiences on a vocal tour through songs by female composers and lyricists when she performs at Feinstein's at the Regency (540 Park Avenue) from December 12th through 15th.

The evening, which will be directed by Mark Waldrop with Joseph Thalken on piano and Dick Sarpola on bass, will feature the Tony Award-nominee singing pieces either written or co-written by Dorothy Fields (Sweet Charity, Seesaw), Betty Comden (On the Town, On the Twentieth Century), Kay Swift (Fine and Dandy), Carolyn Leigh (Peter Pan, Little Me), Lucy Simon (The Secret Garden), Jenny Giering and Beth Blatt (The Mistress Cycle), actress/singer Catherine Cox (Footloose, Baby), Debra Barsha (Radiant Baby), Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich (Junie B. Jones, the upcoming Ever After), and singer/actress Jessica Molaskey (Songs for a New World, Parade).

Luker is a preeminent Broadway leading lady whose credits include Lily in The Secret Garden, Magnolia in Hal Prince's revival of Show Boat (for which she was nominated for a Tony), Maria in the 1998 revival of The Sound of Music and Marian in The Music Man; she received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for the latter role. Luker has also appeared on Broadway in The Phantom of the Opera and the 2003 revival of Nine, and other credits include Brigadoon at the New York City Opera, Encores!'s The Boys from Syracuse, the York Theatre concert of Darling of the Day, and the Kennedy Center production of Passion.
