New York Innovative Theater Award nominee and comedian Lucie Pohl is back for her third year at the East to Edinburgh Series at 59E59 Theatres after two consecutive, sold out runs in 2014 and 2015. Her hilarious new hour fuses stand up, storytelling and characters. The show, 'Apohlcalypse Now!', is a comedy of terrors about the colossal disasters in Lucie's past year, taking the audience on a roller coaster filled with bad decisions, a wedding, a break up, a broken heart, an affair with a motorcycle riding Turk who doesn't speak English, dead rats and wake up calls from Stephen Baldwin.
What do you do when your 10 year relationship is in shambles, your apartment has no heat, your parents lose their family home, your best friend loses his mind, an ex lover threatens to kill himself and there's a dead rat in your mailbox? You write a show about it. Amidst all the insanity of Lucie's real life, she tries to escape to her happy place but life is hard and sometimes fantasy makes for the better reality, sometimes disaster is relief.
Lucie Pohl was born in Germany and raised in NYC. Her storytelling comedy debut smash hit 'Hi Hitler!' was nominated for the 2015 New York Innovative Theater Award (Outstanding Solo Performance), received 5 and 4 star reviews and played to sold out houses at the Edinburgh Festival, on London's West End, 59E59 Theatres NY, Los Angeles, The Baltimore Fringe, Dixon Place, Emerging Artist Theatre, across Germany, in Bucharest, Romania and went on to have a full run at IRT Theatre (resident artist) in New York!
