Tomorrow, Friday November 16, "The After Party" is pleased to welcome The Lion King's Ian Yuri Gardner and Kenny Williams, plus Broadway's Luba Mason!
Luba Mason most recently starred on Broadway in Chicago as Velma Kelly. Previously, Luba earned starring roles on Broadway in Jekyll & Hyde, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying (opposite Matthew Broderick), The Capeman, Sunset Boulevard, The Will Rogers Follies. In Los Angeles she starred opposite Val Kilmer in The Ten Commandments. No stranger to cabaret, Luba has sold out shows at Los Angeles' famed Cinegrill as well as New York's Opia and Cafe Versailles. Ian Yuri Gardner, originally from Vancouver, boasts credits in The Lion King (Broadway, Toronto and Netherlands), Best of Musicals, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Additionally, Ian has performed for Royal Caribbean and New West Theatre Productions.
Kenny Williams can currently be seen in The Lion King on Broadway. Other New York credits include NY City Center's Encores' production of Purlie. Before the show made its way to Broadway, Kenny was in the world premiere of The Color Purple at the Alliance Theatre.
Hosted by Brandon Cutrell and Alysha Umphress, featuring Lisa Asher with Ray Fellman at the piano, "The After Party" is also celebrating the birthday of friend, David Gurland – who will attend and promises to sing.
"The After Party" is held every Friday night at 10:30PM at The Laurie Beechman Theatre at the West Bank Café (407 West 42nd St.) Admission is free.
