Tours will start at The Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy Kling/Niman Family Visitor's Center,(under construction) 400 Grand Street (between Clinton and Suffolk Streets) across from Citibank.

To accommodate visitors interested in experiencing the sacred sites and rich history of the Lower East Side, the Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy (LESJC) is continuing its program of scheduled public tours initiated last year. Each tour will be approximately 90 minutes.

Fees for the Insider Tours $12 adults and $10 seniors/students. Children under six are free. Reservations are not required. Tours will take place rain or shine.

Two Insider Tours will be offered:
1) Thursday, August 5th - 1:45PM "CROSSING DELANCEY"

Participants will see the stunning beauty of the Angel Orenanz Cultrual Foundation's interior (formerly Congregation Anshei Chesed); the oldest surviving structure built as a synagogue in New York City.
Visit the magnificently restored Congregation Chasam Sopher, the oldest continually operating synagogue in New York City.
Participants will have the opportunity to browse Streit's Maztoh Factory Outlet, the only family-owned and operated matzoh company in the U.S., and snack on irresistible confections at Economy Candy. (Food costs not included).

2) Sunday, August 8th - 11:45AM "BIALYSTOKER THE BEAUTIFUL"

Participants will view the exterior of Beth Hamedrash Hagadol, former home of the largest Russian-Jewish congregation in the United States.
The Bialystoker Synagogue, the largest active congregation on the Lower East Side today. The Bialystoker Synagogue features a richly painted ceiling with signs of the Zodiac, and hand-painted murals on the walls.
Participants will also learn about Shteibl Row and visit Congregation Beth Hachasidim De Polen, an original 19th Century shteibl (a one room prayer or study hall).
The Tour will include a discussion of the Henry Street Settlement and Lower East Side Mikvah.
