Louis C.K. to Make MGM Grand Garden Arena Debut, 3/8

Louis C.K., one of the most honest and respected comedic voices of his generation, has found success in both television and film as well as on the live stage. On Friday, March 8, he will bring his routine to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for a special one-night appearance. The show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Louis currently serves as executive producer, writer, director and editor of the comedy series, "Louie," on FX. His past stand-up specials include "WORD - Live at Carnegie Hall," "Live at the Beacon Theater," "Hilarious" and "Shameless," among others. The funnyman's past writing credits include the "Late Show with David Letterman," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "The Dana Carvey Show" and "The Chris Rock Show." He also co-wrote the screenplays "Down to Earth" and "I Think I Love My Wife" with Chris Rock.

The popular comedian has earned a number of accolades over the course of the last two years including two 2012 Emmy Awards - one for "Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special" ("Live at the Beacon Theatre" stand-up comedy special) and the other for "Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series" ("Louie"). He was nominated for five additional 2012 Emmy Awards including "Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series" and "Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series." In 2011, Louis was honored as the "Comedy Person of the Year" at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. He was recognized for his comedy on several year-end Top 10 lists including TIME Magazine, Entertainment Weekly and the AFI Awards. Louis also won a 2012 GRAMMY Award in the "Best Comedy Album" category for Hilarious, released in 2011.
