"One of the 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time" according to Comedy Central is coming to Bay Street. Stand-up comedian and actor Louie Anderson will find the humor in life's troubles on June 15 at 8:00 p.m. as part of Bay Street Theatre's Monday Night Comedy Club.
A two-time Emmy award winner, Louie Anderson got his big break in 1984 when he appeared on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson." Carson was so impressed with the comic he called him out for a rare second bow.
Anderson is currently headlining his own show in Las Vegas, "Louie-Larger Than Life." He began his career at a comedy club in his native Minneapolis, when, on a dare from friends, he got up on stage and performed. His stories about growing up in the Midwest as one of 11 children of an alcoholic father provide endless fodder for jokes that audiences of all ages enjoy and relate.
As one of America's most recognized and adored comedians, Anderson has appeared on television in his own comedy specials for HBO, Showtime, and the CBS sitcom "The Louie Show," as a guest on "Scrubs," "Touched by an Angel," and "Chicago Hope," and as host of "Family Feud." He appeared opposite Eddie Murphy in the hit film "Coming to America." He was also executive producer and creator of the Emmy Award winning animated series "Life With Louie" on Fox.
Comedy Club continues with David Brenner July 13, Celebrity Autobiography July 20, Jim Breuer July 27, Susie Essman August 17, Mario Cantone August 24, Robert Klein August 31, and Janeane Garofalo & Rob Riggle September 7.
