Lori Bookstein Fine Art is please to announce a new installation by Taller KEN. This is the artists' first solo-exhibition with Lori Bookstein Fine Art.

This project is a site specific response, whimsically turning its surroundings inside-out. The exterior Mylar curtains are part of a domestic vocabulary, a window dressing which contrasts the industrial history of the neighborhood. The reflective quality of the piece moves introspection from within the "frame" of the neutral art space to the street, where it captures attention from afar, and its appearance changes throughout the day.

Taller KEN is an architecture practice based in Guatemala and New York. The work of the studio has been featured in several exhibitions, publications and conferences including; "NY Art Book Fair" in 2013 at MoMA PS1, "Catedra Jorge Montes" in 2013 at the Universidad del Istmo de Guatemala, "A Strange Utility: Architecture Toward Other Ends" in 2013 at Portland State University, and "PechaKucha Gobal Cities Week" in 2012, in Genoa, Italy.

The Open Window Project was conceived as a project space by which to showcase the work of emerging artists and those artists who may not necessarily fit into the gallery's program. While the gallery has always maintained the tradition of representing a focused group of core artists, it is excited about the ways in which working with other artists through the Open Window Project will enhance the dialogue surrounding the gallery's primary agenda. The Open Window Project will occupy the street front window on Tenth Avenue between 18th and 19th Streets.

Taller KEN: Inside-Out Curtain will be on view from June 12 - August 1, 2014. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 12th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 am to 6:00 pm. Summer hours, beginning Monday July 7th, are Monday - Friday, 10:30 - 6:00.
