Loom Ensemble, an emerging New York City based interdisciplinary theater company, will present a new work titled Every Body. Every Body opens Saturday, May 7 at 2:00pm on the West side of Central Park at 86th St. This will launch a tour of NYC Parks with 7 performances throughout May. All performances are free and open to the public (please see www.loomensemble.com for specific dates, times and locations). ??Loom weaves together full-body movement, dense vocal harmonies, and text-based storytelling to create lush, vibrant ensemble performances. Inspired by private workshops and mentor relationships with internationally acclaimed theater companies the TEAM, SITI Company, and Pig Iron--Loom intertwines innovations of these established theater companies with a fresh, interdisciplinary voice of their own.

Every Body gives the hero's journey a run for its money -- combining song, dance, instruments from around the world, mobile sculpture sets, and a body-systems approach to an exploration of the physiology of determination, doubt and celebration. Every Body is a family friendly performance presented ‘in the round.'

Every Body is the culmination of a year-long process by Loom founders Raphael Sacks, Neva Cockrell, Michael Bauer, and Sasha Bogdanowitsch and a 6-week intensive workshop with the ensemble, built on top of decades of devoted study of a wide range of art forms that, when merged, engender a multifaceted performance experience. In addition to the founding members and composer, the performance features: Zoe Anastassiou, Andrew Broaddus, Harry Einhorn, Erzsi Palko,Sydney Schiff andLaurel Snyder. The cast ranges from accomplished singers to highly trained dancers, actors, martial artists, yogis, acrobats, jugglers and dialect coaches.??Loom Ensemble's world premier of Every Body is a production of World In One Pan Arts Collective and made possible in part by the Manhattan Children's Theater.

Please join us for our fundraiser party Thursday April 26th from 6-11pm at Manhattan Children's Theater, 52 White Street, $12 at the door. It promises to be a great evening of drinks, performances, dancing, and partying! Support Loom and help us celebrate the launch of our first show.
