According to a casting notice, Peter Morgan's London hit Frost/Nixon is set to bow on Broadway this spring.
It will open on April 22nd at a Broadway theatre to be announced. Previews will start on or around April 8th, while rehearsals will begin on March 5th.
The play, which is centered around the legendary 1977 interviews between the ex-president and the celebrity interviewer of the title, recently played a critically acclaimed run at the Donmar Warehouse in London. Michael Grandage will once again direct, and Tony Award-winner Frank Langella (Fortune's Fool, Dracula) and Michael Sheen (Olivier-nominee for Caligula, Amadeus on the West End)--who respectively played Richard Nixon and David Frost in London--will star on Broadway.
An upcoming film version--to be helmed by Ron Howard--was recently announced. "Howard and (Universal) have agreed to shoot the project following the show's West End and Broadway transfers," stated Variety.
Matthew Byam Shaw, Arielle Tepper Madover, Robert Fox, ACT Productions and the Donmar Warehouse will produce the show on Broadway.
