Lois Robbins To Star In Capital Rep's CACTUS FLOWER, Previews 10/22

Capital Repertory Theatre in Albany, NY announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of the romantic screwball comedy Cactus Flower, written by Abe Burrows, the Pulitzer Prize winning author for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and best known for penning the sassy book of the popular musical, Guys and Doll. Cactus Flower follows the story of Julian, a commitment-phobic dentist, who avoids settling down by pretending to be married. His plan meets with hilarious consequences when he decides to marry his much-younger girlfriend, Toni. When the ethical Toni insists on meeting Julian's wife, the comic ball is off and rolling. The comedy, set in 1965, enjoyed a successful three-year run on Broadway and was turned into a film in 1969. In Capital Rep's production, television, film and theatre veteran, Lois Robbins assumes the title role of the Cactus Flower, Julian's very proper dental nurse who is called upon to rescue The Situation.

Best known for her role as Dr. Anna Tolan in All My Children, Lois Robbins makes her Capital Rep debut in the role. Don Noble who was most recently seen as Atticus in Capital Rep's critically-acclaimed production of To Kill a Mockingbird, co-stars as Julian. Rounding out the romantic triangle is Los Angeles-based actress, Toni Trucks in the role of Toni, the spirited girlfriend with scruples.

In addition to All My Children, Lois Robbins' television credits include: Law & Order, Now and Again, Sex and the City, Falcon Crest, One Life to Live and Ryan's Hope among others. Film credits include 2009's Motherhood starring Uma Thurman, Town & Country, Hudson River Blues and The Screammaker. Stage Credits include Off-Broadway, regional and workshop productions at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center, Goodspeed Opera, Trinity Rep, Studio Arena, Rubicon Theater, Schoolhouse Theater and Roundabout Theater.

Preview performances of Cactus Flower begin on Friday, October 22, Opening night is Wednesday, October 27. The show will run through November 14, 2010. Performances will run Tuesday through Sunday with the following schedule: Tuesdays at 7:30pm, Wednesdays at 2:00pm (Wednesday, November 3 only) and 7:30pm, Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 3:00pm and 7:30pm, and Sundays at 3:00pm.
