Local Sculptor Chris Navarro to be Featured in Loveland Art Show, 8/13 -14

Sculptor Chris Navarro of Casper will be featured in the 20th annual Loveland Sculpture Invitational Show and Sale, the largest outdoor sculpture show in the country on August 13th and 14th.

The event hosts more than 200 artists at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. The show exhibits miniature sculptures to monuments, realistic sculptures to abstract, and sculptures in wood, clay, bronze and stone.

Navarro is known for his monumental sculptures. Sculpting professionally since 1986, he has 20 monumental sculptures located across the country. He is also represented in ten galleries across the United States.

Some of his best known sculptures include "Champion Lane Frost," a 15-foot bull rider displayed on the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo grounds; "When Champions Meet," a 15-foot saddle bronc rider at the entrance of the Stampede Rodeo Arena in Greely, Colo.; and "10th Mountain," a 14-foot tall World War II ski soldier displayed in Aspen, Colo.

The exhibit takes place at 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. August 13th; 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. August 14th at the corner of Taft and 29th Streets in Loveland, Colo. Tickets are $5 per day.
