Famed gossip columnist Liz Smith is always a hero to the world of theatre and the arts, and on her weekend column on the 'Woman On The Web' news site Smith spotlighted the recent releases by entertainment icons Barbra Streisand and Liza Minnelli.

As producer, co-writer, director and star of Yentl, Barbra Streisand brought her legendary talents to the acclaimed film about a young woman who risks everything for her insatiable passion to learn.

The Yentl Extended Director's Edition Two-Disc DVD set was released, Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009. The long awaited release includes never before seen bonus features such as Barbra Streisand's Original Concept Reel, rehearsal/final film comparisons, storyboard montages for musical numbers, deleted scenes, and much more.

New York critics and theatre audiences fell under the spell of Liza Minnelli's unmatchable magic when she returned to Broadway's legendary Palace Theatre and played a recent sell-out engagement. Now, music lovers around the world will get the same chance as "Liza's at the Palace..." the new original cast recording of her incomparable show was released on February 3rd, 2009.

Helmed by veteran music producer Phil Ramone, the two-CD set captures Liza at her inspired best-with the first CD (Act I) featuring her signature hits and personal favorites followed by the second CD (Act II) a rousing tribute to the groundbreaking late-1940s nightclub act of Minnelli's godmother, Kay Thompson.
