The 5th Annual Harlem Summer Stage's 2011 Living Legends Tribute in New York City will be honoring singer FrEddie Jackson and Broadway publicist Irene Gandy on Thursday, July 28th, for their work in the culturally rich and diverse Harlem Community. Other honorees include Keith Sweat, Sarah Dash, Alyson Williams, Bobbi Humphrey, Roy Ayers and Delfonics member William Hart from 5 to 8 p.m.

FrEddie Jackson is best known for the hit songs Rock Me Tonight, For Old Time's Sake, Jam Tonight, Do Me Again, and You are My Lady. His debut album Rock Me Tonight stormed the R&B charts in 1985, spending six weeks at number one, and making Jackson an instant sensation on urban contemporary radio. MR. Jackson currently on the "Men of Soul Tour" continues as a solo artist to play to sold-out houses .Mr. FrEddie Jackson recently released his new CD, "For You" on eOne Music. The new single "I Don't Wanna Go" was charted as one of most added singles during its first week of airplay and is featured on television music shows VH1 Soul and "Centric" networks.

Irene Gandy is the only Black female member of ATPAM (Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers) on Broadway. A press agent for over 40 years, she began her career in 1968 as a publicist with Douglas Turner Ward and Robert Hooks' Negro Ensemble Company. Since then, she has worked on over 100 Broadway shows and will be associate producer of the upcoming musical "Porgy and Bess" starring Audra McDonald, Norm Lewis and David Alan Grier coming to Broadway in the 2011-2012 season. In 2008, Ms. Gandy became the first female press agent to be immortalized with a Sardis caricature.

The event is sponsored by The NYC Housing Authority and The NYS GSA Dept; and takes place at The Adam Clayton Powell Jr; State Office Bldg Plaza; on 125th St; and 7th Ave. in Harlem. The Living Legends Tribute is free and open to the public and in the past has accommodated over 8,000 people that have seen past honorees Patti LaBelle, The O'Jays, HAl Jackson and many others.
