Live In The Village is a monthly variety show featuring a rotating cast of talented New York performers- each with unique backgrounds, perspectives and skills- taking on relatable topics and discussing them through music, stand-up comedy and other forms of art. It's the perfect happy hour for co-workers who don't want to talk to each other! Instead, they can sit back and enjoy high quality entertainment all on a Wednesday night at 7PM. Live in the Village is hosted by Mike Lemme and features different guest performers every month.
October's show will feature special guest host Kevin Dombrowski (The Artie Lange Show) with guest comedians Liz Miele (The New Yorker; Comedy Central; Gotham Comedy Live), Sonia Denis (McSweeney's Internet Tendency; Second City; Bridgetown Comedy Festival), Christian Polanco (The Cooligans Podcast), Sean O'Hagan, and Mike Lemme (The St. Marks Sessions) as well as poetry from Josh Howard and pre-show music from DJ Jamil Nouveau.
Live In The Village plays at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place between 1st Avenue and Avenue A) every second Wednesday of the month at 7pm. Tickets ($10) are available for advance purchase at www.horseTRADE.info or at the box office before the show. There is no drink minimum.
FRIGID NEW YORK is a theater development group with a focus on new work that produces a massive quantity of stimulating downtown theater every season. FRIGID's Resident Artist Program offers a home to a select group of Independent theater artists, pooling together a great deal of talent and energy. FRIGID New York grew out of the annual FRIGID Festival, the first and only festival of its kind in New York City to offer artists 100% of their box office proceeds, and Horse Trade Theater Group, a self-sustaining theater development and management group.
