The Littlest Light on the Christmas Tree, the animated film which won the "Best Animated Feature" Accolades Award, has been adapted as a stage musical for young audiences and will premiere in New York City at Vital Theatre Company (2162 Broadway, 4th Floor) for a special limited engagement this holiday season now through January 6.
Performances take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 AM and 1 PM, plus additional weekday performances December 26 & 28 at 1 PM and January 2 – 4 at 1 PM. There are also post performance Holiday Arts and Crafts Workshops at 2 PM on December 22, 26, and 28.

"Featuring ten original songs destined to become yuletide classics, Littlest Light is a magical musical about two unforgettable friends, a discarded Christmas bulb and an eight-year-old boy who finds him and takes him home. When the town suffers a blackout from a fierce winter storm, Little Light triumphs over all odds to 'shine' the way for others 'to see the light.' It's a story about the miracle of believing and the power of the human heart. The musical, which will also premiere in Chicago area theaters during this holiday season, is based on the award-winning animated film starring the voices of Emmy and Tony Award winners, Jane Seymour ("Dancing with the Stars") and James Naughton (Chicago) which is also being released on DVD in December by Peter Pan video.

The New York production is directed by Steven Harris, based on the original direction and choreography by Luis Perez. The set design is by Michael Lasswell. The orchestrations and Midi are by Ethan Deppe. The Music Director is Justin Stoney. The design team also includes costumes by Brenda Phelps, lighting by Rebecca R.M. Makus, original lighting design by Aimee Hanyzewski, additional choreography by Jeremy Benton, assistant choreographer Jamie Grayson. Sharon Gregory is stage manager.
