Little Radical Theatrics, coming off the heels of the Westchester premiere of SMILE, proudly presents its Summer 2011 production, the celebrated Rupert Holmes musical, THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD Performances run July 14th at 7:30 pm, July 15th and 16th at 8:00pm and July 17th @ 3:00pm at the Main Street Arts Center (238 Route 117 Bypass Rd, Bedford Hills).
"This wildly warm-hearted theatrical experience kicks off when the Music Hall Royale (a hilariously loony Victorian musical troupe) "puts on" its flamboyant rendition of an unfinished Charles Dickens mystery novel," begin production notes. "The story itself deals with John Jasper, a choirmaster who is quite madly in love with his music student, the fair Miss Rosa Bud. Now, Miss Bud is, in turn, engaged to Jasper's nephew, young Edwin Drood. Our title character disappears mysteriously one stormy Christmas Eve -- but has Edwin Drood been murdered? And if so, then whodunnit? The giddy playfullness of this play-within-a-play draws the audience toward one of DROOD's most talked-about features, which allows the audience to vote on the solution as prelude to the most unusual and hilarious of finales!"
Under the direction of LRT artistic director Michael Mirra, the show also features choreography by Jessica Bittner Markus and musical direction by Kurt Kelley. Production stage manager is Heather Steinberg.
