Lisa Kron to Fill in for Chalfant in 'Stories Left to Tell'

Obie Award-winner Lisa Kron (writer, star of Well) will join the cast of the acclaimed Naked Angels production of Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell beginning tomorrow (Wednesday) through June 3rd at the Minetta Lane Theatre, taking on the role of "Love" during Kathleen Chalfant's vacation.

Press releases state, "In addition to Well, which opened on Broadway in March, 2006 and received two Tony Award nominations, playwright-performer Kron has also written 2.5 Minute Ride (which premiered at La Jolla Playhouse in 1996 and won an Obie Award for its 1999 run at The Public Theatre) and 101 Humiliating Stories. As an actress, she has appeared in The Vagina Monologues and The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told.  Kron is also a founding member of The Five Lesbian Brothers, an Obie and Bessie Award-winning theater company whose plays include Oedipus at Palm Springs, Brave Smiles, Brides of the Moon and The Secretaries."

Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell opened March 6 and was conceived by Gray's widow, Kathleen Russo, and is directed by Lucy Sexton. The show compiles Gray's work, well-known and never before seen, including excerpts from Sex and Death to Age 14, Terrors of Pleasure, Swimming to Cambodia, Impossible Vacation, Gray's Anatomy, Monster in a Box, It's a Slippery Slope, Morning Noon and Night and Life Interrupted. Stories Left to Tell features an ensemble cast of five including Kron (in for Chalfant), Hazelle Goodman, Ain Gordon, Tony-winner Frank Wood and a rotating special guest actor.

Performances are Tuesday through Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are  $35 - $65 and are available by visiting www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (212) 307-4100.  Tickets can also be purchased directly from the Minetta Lane Theatre box office by calling (212) 420-8000.
