Tom Noonan and the Paradise Factory will present the world premiere of Brother, written and directed by Lisa Ebersole and produced by Luke Rosen.  Brother will begin previews at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue) on Thursday, July 14th for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 14th, with opening night set for Thursday, July 21th at 8:00 PM.

In the play, "The rain is coming down, but inside a small East Village walk-up two women entertain the stranger they've brought home with late night birthday revelry, ripe with wild flirtations and booze fueled confessions.  When a fourth enters the mix, their sexually charged celebration abruptly ends, with grisly consequences.  Walking a fine line between intrigue and danger, Brother intersects race and class, as it unveils four very real characters who are consumed by a very surreal situation.  Stereotypes are projected, assumptions are tested and predictability is led in a tango until the shocking finale," according to a press article.

The cast for Brother includes Orran Farmer (Something is Rotten: A Hell's Kitchen Hamlet), Haskell King (The Great Pretenders--Ensemble Studio Theatre, Take Me Out--Caldwell Theatre, Moons of Jupiter--Center Stage) and Stephanie Sanditz (The Golden Rose--LA's The Actor's Gang, Jennie Richee, Cheap Thrills--Proto-type, The Donkey Show).

Ebersole is a writer, director, and actor for film and theater.  Her first full-length play, People Die That Way, was presented by Tom Noonan and starred as a critic's choice by David Cote in Time Out New York magazine. People Die That Way ran Off-Off-Broadway at New York's Paradise Theater and was extended following critical acclaim.  Prior to People Die, Ebersole wrote and directed three monologues for Mouth Pieces at The Paradise Theater. While a student at NYU, she wrote and directed the short film, Puddin' (2001), which debuted at The Palm Springs International Shorts Festival and screened at festivals nationwide.  She is an executive producer at BrainPOP, where she writes animated educational movies for kids.

Noonan founded the Paradise Theater at 64 East 4th Street in 1983.  In the past 2 decades, he has written, directed, and produced his work and the work of the members of the Paradise Theater Company.  These productions have won two National Endowment for the Arts Grants, an OBIE award, The Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize (Best Film), the Waldo Salt Award (Best Screenplay), and the Silver Hugo from the Chicago International Film Festival, among others. These plays include What Happened Was, Wifey, and Wang Dang.  Individually, Noonan continues to produce film and theater work, his most recent being What the Hell's Your Problem? An Evening with Bob Nathelson.  He also teaches acting, dramatic writing, and directing at the Paradise Theater as well as being on the faculty of Yale University.  In 2002,  Noonan and the Paradise Theater Company produced the Drama Desk-nominated Peter and Vandy, written and directed by Paradise Theater Company member Jay DiPietro.

The regular performance schedule for Brother is Thursday-Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 5:00 PM.
