The producers of Gerard Alessandrini's acclaimed Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking! are pleased to announce that Lindsay Nicole Chambers will join the cast of the hit musical on Tuesday, February 5 at the 47th Street Theatre (304 West 47th Street). Last seen on Broadway in Lysistrata Jones, Ms. Chambers replaces Jenny Lee Stern whose last performance is Sunday, February 3rd. Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking! is scheduled to run through April 28th . The new recording, from DRG Records, is now available in stores, on iTunes and at Amazon.com.
Ms. Chambers is currently filming season three of 'Submissions Only'. She has also appeared on Broadway in Legally Blonde and Hairspray and was last seen Off Broadway in Triassic Parq. She will join the cast that includes: Natalie Charlé Ellis, Scott Richard Foster and Marcus Stevens, with David Caldwell on piano.
Critical and audience reception has been overwhelming. The show was chosen as the Top Ten of The Year by Time Magazine and The Associated Press. Forbidden Broadway; ALIVE AND KICKING, features Gerard Alessandrini's parodies of Broadway's biggest shows and brightest stars, including Annie, Newsies, Once, Book of Mormon, Spiderman, Evita, Porgy and Bess, Anything Goes, Follies, as well of send-ups of Al Pacino, Phillip Seymor Hoffman, Catherine Zeta Jones, Matthew Broderick, Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, among others.
This edition is created and written by Gerard Alessandrini, and directed by Mr. Alessandrini and Phillip George, with musical direction by David Caldwell, and additional dialogue by Phillip George. Costumes are designed by Philip Heckman, lighting design by Mark T. Simpson and wig design by Bobbie Cliffton Zlotnik. The playing schedule for Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking! is as follows: Tuesday and Thursdays through Saturdays at 8PM, Sundays at 7:30PM with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2PM.
