Lindsay Mendez and Ruthie Ann Miles Join New CBS Drama COURTHOUSE Image

According to Deadline, Tony winners Lindsay Mendez and Ruthie Ann Miles have both signed on to join the new drama pilot COURTHOUSE on CBS. Both are series regulars. Deadline shares that "Mendez will play Sara, an ebullient, optimistic court reporter who has surprising hidden talents. A close friend to Emily, Sara hosts the Courthouse poker games and is a reliable source for gossip and courthouse intel. Miles will portray Sherri. As Lola's Judicial Assistant, Sherri is The Gatekeeper; she controls the schedule, the witness lists, the flow of paperwork - everything. She can make defendants sit in the lockup and wait all day for the next appearance, or she can find a way to get them in and out before her morning coffee gets cold. Efficient, pragmatic and armed with wickedly dry sense of humor, Sherri isn't thrilled she has to "train" Lola (Simone Missick) - a rookie judge."

The cast also consists of Missick, Marg Helgenberger, Jessica Camacho, Wilson Bethel and J. Alex Brinson.

Lindsay Mendez won the 2018 Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards for her performance as 'Carrie Pipperidge' in the Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel. Lindsay has appeared in numerous Broadway shows including Significant Other, Wicked, Godspell, Everyday Rapture, and Grease. Lindsay is celebrated for her star turn in Pasek & Paul's Dogfight, which premiered at Second Stage Theater in 2012, for which she earned Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Awards nominations.

Miles is known for her work Tony winning turn in THE KING AND I. She is currently nominated for an Olivier award for the reprise of her same role in the West End. Her off Broadway credits include Here Lies Love (Theatre World Award, Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Musical; Public), Avenue Q (New World Stages); Two by Two; The Roar of the Greasepaint, The Smell of the Crowd (York Theatre). National tours: Sweeney Todd, Annie. Film: I Am Michael, Grand Street.
