Actor/Playwright James Lecesne will be presenting a reading of his new play THE MOTHER OF INVENTION in a benefit reading to support the work of The Alzheimer's Family Support Center of Cape Cod.

Directed by Tony Speciale, the reading will take place on April 25, 2016 at 7 p.m. at The Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street, NYC), featuring Linda Lavin, Susie Pourfar, Alfredo Narciso, Isabella Russo and Dale Soules.

In THE MOTHER OF INVENTION, when Dottie Nerber's son and daughter arrive to pack up the contents of her Florida home, they discover that their mother has become a stranger to them. They literally can't see the woman she's become. What they remember and what they have conveniently forgotten about their past is called into question as they try to find the way forward and figure out what to do with their mother. Who gets to tell the family story is determined by who survives, and Dottie is very determined to survive.

Melanie Braverman and Molly Perdue of the AFSC have been supporting thousands of families on Cape Cod who are dealing with the effects of Alzheimer's and dementia. In just a couple of years they have created a model of what community service can look like, and they are being recognized for their trailblazing efforts nationwide.
