Lincoln Center Debuts LCDJ New, FREE DJ and Sound System Parties

Starting this fall, there will be a new destination for some of the hottest DJ parties in New York, when Lincoln Center launches its new LCDJ series at the David Rubenstein Atrium. On six consecutive weekends (October 2, 9, 15, 22, 29 and November 6), from 9 p.m. to midnight, cutting-edge DJ's will present evenings of eclectic listening and dancing-with rhythms and beats from the heart of Brazil to indie clubs from across the East River-as the David Rubenstein Atrium is transformed into an modern lounge. And the best part-admission is FREE! There is no cover charge, and although drinks and refreshments will be available from ‘wichcraft, there is no minimum.

Kicking off the series on Saturday, October 2, is the New York debut of one of Brazil's hottest DJ's, DJ Tudo who joins elements of dub, funk and electronic to traditional Brazilian sounds. Saturday, October 9, is presented in collaboration with Nat Geo Music, and features DJ Matt Shadetek, a New York City producer who specializes in dubstep and dancehall music. Friday, October 15, brings the founder of The Bunker, the leading electronic event in New York, DJ Spinoza, to the Atrium, to spin an adventurous underground techno set. DJ Beverly Bond has displayed her versatile talents at exclusive parties for the VH1 Fashion Awards and ESPN X-Games and for celebrities Prince, Diddy and Jay-Z, and on Friday, October 22, she steps it up at the Atrium. On Friday, October 29, I Love Vinyl, with it's potent line-up of DJ's Amir, Ge-Ology, Jon Oliver, OP!, Scribe, and The Twilite Tone, offers up a wide-ranging night of soul, disco, boogie, house, electro and more. Closing out the series, on Saturday, November 6 is GlobeSonic Sound System's DJ's Acidophilus, Fabian Alsultany and Derek Beres, with percussionist Duke Mushroom, spinning dance floor tracks that represent their collective musical heritages that weave together traditional music with modern aesthetics.

DJ TUDO New York Debut
Sao Paulo-based Alfredo Bello, (DJ Tudo), is a musician, producer and researcher at the forefront of electronic experimental music in Brazil. Tudo is interested in joining Brazilian traditional genres with more contemporary sounds such as jungle, dub and funk. He has recorded and performed with Lee Scratch Perry, Adrian Sherwood, Otto, Apollo 9 and Ligiana and produced recordings for Junio Barreto, and Gero Camiilo, among others. His career has been on the rise at home and internationally, and he is about to take the U.S. by storm, with appearances in Washington, DC and the World Music Festival in Chicago. Tudo's mission of bridging diverse cultures and balancing traditional and modern sounds is fully in evidence on his latest recording, Nos quintais do Mundo ("In the Backyards of the World"), a musical conversation between Brazil, Europe and Africa. One of New York City's most exciting producers DJ Shadetek's live sets encompass contemporary dancehall, UK funky, and dubstep, all delivered with his unique voice which bridges the underground-mainstream divide. Shadetek is one of the rare DJ's who can rock a crowd with sets composed solely of his own dance floor bangers and remixes. The National Geographic Society's mission to inspire people to care about our planet and for Nat Geo Music, inspiration is often found on the dance floor.

THE BUNKER
Bryan Kasenic (DJ Spinoza) is a powerhouse of the electronic music world-known as a leading producer, promoter, curator of the monthly techno event The Bunker, and for his own adventurous DJ sets. The Bunker is an on ongoing musical exploration of underground techno, considered the premier techno parties in North America. Spinoza's mixes are techno based, but bring in funk, "The type of dance music that has a warm, fuzzy finish to it-a slightly intoxicating haze of quiet delays and light noise," is how percussionlab.com describes it. This past February, Kasenic produced three successful events for the inaugural Unsound Festival New York. The Bunker personifies Kasenic's approach to mixing-a party for music obsessed people who want to dance to interesting sounds in a room full of likeminded folks, thrown by people who live to do just that, and strive to perfect the experience. A true music connoisseur, Beverly Bond's passion for music and uncanny ability to read the crowd has solidified her career as one of the world's premier DJs. Known as the "DJ's favorite DJ" by her peers, Bond's musical knowledge spans innumerable genres. Well-versed in hip-hop, rock, soul, funk, and pop, Bond effortlessly blends eras and genres to create an unrivaled party vibe. Bond has emerged as a prominent voice in hip-hop, having been recognized as one of the most influential DJ's in the country. About the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center

This new public space is named in honor of the philanthropist, financier and Vice Chairman of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, in recognition of his $10 million gift to the Bravo Campaign. Serving as a gateway to Lincoln Center and the entire Upper West Side community, the Atrium offers-for the first time in Lincoln Center history-day-of discount tickets to available performances across the campus, in addition to access to full-price tickets via onsite kiosks and telephone services.
