Lincoln Center Announces This Month's Family Programming and Events

Lincoln Center has announced it's lineup of programming and family events for the month of April. See the full schedule below!

LC Kids Artists at the Atrium

Gustafer Yellowgold

Morgan Taylor's beloved animated visitor from the sun has opened for Wilco and The Polyphonic Spree, appeared Off-Broadway, and been honored by NAPPA (National Parenting Products Awards), the Kids First! Film Festival, and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Today, Gustafer Yellowgold visits Lincoln Center for a show like no other, using live music, animation, and quirky storytelling to tell of his imaginative explorations of the Minnesota woods where he landed.

Campfire

Somewhere in the city, there is a tent. Inside this tent, there is an entire forest. And inside every tree trunk, and under every rock, there is a story. Trusty Sidekick invites its audience to gather around the campfire, gaze through binoculars, look for shooting stars, and entertain porcupines with a good joke. This intimate theater experience uses innovative puppetry and immersive staging to take audiences on a sensory trip to the great outdoors. Based in New York City, Trusty Sidekick Theater Company creates bold, original productions for young people and their families. Rooted firmly in the belief that kids deserve theater that ignites their imaginations and makes them think about the world in a new way, the company creates work that is multidisciplinary, and its ensemble of collaborators includes artists trained in physical theater, puppetry, music, dance, animation, and video projection.

You Don't Want a Unicorn by Ame Dyckman

When a little boy throws a coin in a well asking for a pet unicorn, he has no idea what kind of trouble he's in for. Unbeknownst to him, unicorns make the absolutely worst pets: they shed, they poke holes in your ceiling, they make a big mess. With a knowing wink from Ame Dyckman, creator of Wolfie the Bunny, and cheerful illustrations from Rory the Dinosaur creator and Tumblr star Liz Climo, this catalog of all of the ways a pet unicorn can ruin your life is sure to have readers in stitches.

Recommended for ages 2-5
