Lin-Manuel Miranda's HAMILTON Headed to HBO?

HAMILTON might not be headed to Broadway this season, but it could be making its way to the small screen soon.

According to the New York Post, HBO Films President Len Amato and NBCUniversal Vice Chairman Ron Meyer recently attended Lin-Manuel Miranda's new musical at The Public Theater.

An inside source told the Post the hip-hop show "has the potential to be the next 'Rent'."

The Public Theater recently announced a third off-Broadway extension for the world premiere production. Inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, Hamilton will now run an additional four weeks through Sunday, May 3 with an official press opening tomorrow, February 17.
