Loyal followers of the hit #Ham4Ham show will recall that Weird Al Yankovic was featured on a digital episode of the popular pre-show performances that Lin-Manuel unwittingly began on the afternoon of Hamilton's first Broadway lottery. Last night, Weird Al returned the favor, inviting Miranda to join him on stage to sing "Yoda" at a concert in Chicago, where Miranda is currently in rehearsals for the Chicago production of Hamilton.
Following the concert, Miranda tweeted a memory from 9th grade, when he attended a Weird Al concert with some friends, which detailed the significance of the number that Al asked him to perform. Towards the end of the concert, the trio yelled "Yoda!" at the stage, which ended up being the concert's encore. According to Miranda, they "Truly believed [their] screams made Yoda happen," citing the evening as the best moment-up until then, at least- of his life. Weird also tweeted a photo of himself and Miranda, along with other celebrities in attendance at the concert.
Check out footage of Weird Al and Miranda performing together, as well as Miranda and Weird Al's tweets, below!
