Lighthouse Youth Theatre's Senior Company will perform the Andrew Lloyd Weber/Tim Rice Rock Opera. Jesus Christ Superstar was the first Andrew Lloyd Weber/Tim Rice musical produced for the professional stage. Based loosely on the Gospels' account of the last week of Jesus' life, beginning with the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and ending with the Crucifixion. The musical score includes songs that topped the charts in the '70s: "Superstar," "Everything's All Right," and "I Don't Know How to Love Him". Twentieth-century attitudes and sensibilities as well as contemporary slang pervade the lyrics, and ironic allusions to modern life are scattered throughout the depiction of political events. From youth groups to Seniors, the show's interpretation is great fuel for discussion

The cast includes: Lily Allen, Samantha Bell, Alex Bradsell, Brittanie Burke, Austin Christensen, Tori Cott, Tess Cronin, Ashley Dassa, Carly Dieck, Nola Donkin, Kaitlin Ferrara, Stephanie Ferraria, Kira Goidel, Aidan Heintzman, Michael Herwitz, John Anthony Loffredo, Gregory Markert, Michela Masotti, Lauren Moore, Sami Naus, Caeley Perrine, Rebecca Simpson-Wallack, Matt, Tim and Shannon Stout, Eddy Wines, Laura Woodward,

The cast are all members of Protégé, the senior company of The Lighthouse Youth Theatre. Protégé is made up of the most talented and hard working Westchester teens 18 & under, who want to develop their skills in all aspects of the theatre including classes and being part of a production team.
The Lighthouse Youth Theatre, located in Thornwood, was created in 2006 by artistic director John Fanelli. Fanelli's goal was to produce high caliber productions for children and teens in Westchester and the surrounding areas. LYT produces eight full scale productions annually, and runs two performing arts summer workshops.
