Libra Theater Company announces In the Balance, a quarterly reading series of both contemporary and established plays. Starting this October, the company will present an eclectic mix of four plays at performance venues around the city. Each reading will begin with a pre-show reception with the director and cast.

For the employees of the Parfumerie, only the truth can lead to a happy resolution in this old-fashioned, romantic Christmas tale that inspired The Shop Around the Corner, She Loves Me, and You've Got Mail.

Antony and Cleopatra

In this perilous tragedy, Shakespeare tells the fated story of two of history's greatest lovers: Roman general Mark Antony and Egyptian queen Cleopatra VII. Filled with war, death, and passion, Antony and Cleopatra shows the lengths we're willing to go to attain love and power - and the destruction that we can leave in our wake.

Libra Theater Company is dedicated to creating quality theater that honors and works with the time commitments of its artists. In its inaugural 2010-11 season, Libra presented The Entropy Songs (a musical by 2011 Jonathan Larson Grant recipient Joshua H. Cohen) and Fleet Week and Other Reasons to Sail (a concert of songs of Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, writers of NYMF "Best of Fest" winning musical Unlock'd). In August 2011, the company presented Midsummer Musicals, an evening of readings of short musicals by Joshua H. Cohen, Sophia Chapadjiev, Mat Eisenstein, Mark T. Evans, Allison Leyton-Brown, Sara Nicholson, and Sunny Dahlia Turner.
