Lianne Marie Dobbs, Cole Burden and More Set for The Development Wing's BROADWAY UNDER THE STARS Gala Tonight

The Development Wing which has dedicated itself to nurturing new musicals via partnerships with regional, not for profit theaters will hold its exclusive, intimate one-night-only benefit concert featuring Broadway stars singing songs from several new musicals at the historic Tewksbury, New Jersey home of Cherie King, President, The Development Wing and her husband composer, lyricist and book writer, Jonathan Brielle, Artistic Director of The Development Wing and Vice Chairman, The Johnny Mercer Foundation.

Brielle will serve as both master of ceremonies and performer as selections from several of his new musicals will be presented. The event takes place tonight, September 21, 2013 at 6 PM at 44 Farmersville Road, Tewksbury, New Jersey just 60 minutes from Broadway.

Directed by award winning director Michael Bush who will also co-host with Brielle, "Broadway Under the Stars" will feature a dazzling group of Broadway's brightest stars including Cole Burden, LiAnne Marie Dobbs , Rose Hemingway, Ken Pyrmus, Don Rebic and Christine Reisner.

Jonathan Brielle and his All Star Band organized especially for this evening will feature players who have performed with such talents as Wynton Marsalis, Sting, George Michael, James Taylor, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and have among them scores of Broadway show credits. The All Stars include Musical Director Jeff Klitz, Piano, Paul Pizzutti, Drums, Mike Hall, Bass, Larry Saltzman, Guitar, Jim Hynes, Trumpet, Ryan Keberle, Trombone, Dan Willis, Reeds and Vito Chiavuzzo, Reeds.

This year has been a joyous time for The Development Wing with four shows they have supported in various stages of production: Nightmare Alley which just had a well received Staged Reading at NYMF, Himself and Nora currently on track for New York following a critically acclaimed run at Hamilton Stage, 40 Naked Women, a Monkey and Meand Heartbreaker, as well as, programs initiated by the artistic director Jonathan Brielle including the establishment of the Johnny Mercer Writers Colony and educational programs in Newark, Los Angeles and the Bronx.

The late afternoon fundraiser will begin with cocktails and delectable hors d'oeuvres by Becky Geisel and Joan Nittiof BEX Eatery and Catering Company, one of the finest caterers and purveyors of healthy gourmet cooking inHunterdon County. Guests can stroll around the bucolic grounds and toured the main house which was in the 1850s a schoolhouse. Brielle and King purchased the property in 2005 and converted the schoolhouse into a state of the art digital facility, with two control rooms, each complete with pro-tools and digital performer, and tied into the live room with a Baldwin Grand Piano, The studio can easily accommodate up to 15 players.

Michael Bush (Director) most recently directed a staged reading of Jonathan Brielle's musical Nightmare Alley at this summer's New York Musical Theatre Festival and the acclaimed American Theater Group presentation of Brielle's Himself and Nora at Hamilton Stage. Off-Broadway productions of Psycho Therapy , Cactus Flower, and Based On A Totally True Story. Regional Productions include: Stormy Weather (Pasadena Playhouse, Prince Music Theatre), The Sisters Rosensweig (Capital Repertory Theatre), Murderers (Philadelphia Theatre Company, City Theatre), etc. He is the co-author and director of Leslie Uggam's Uptown Downtown (Pasadena Playhouse, Capital Repertory Theatre) which won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for best solo performance. He won the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival Award for Excellence in Direction for the world premiere musical Hurricane. Since 2005 he directed 7 NYMF musicals including The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde, The Piper, and Jonathan Brielle's Himself and Nora for the 2012 Festival. His second show for Leslie Uggams, Classic Uggams, premiered at New York's 54 Below in November 2012. He will be remounting Himself and Nora for the American Theatre Group in the spring of 2013.

He is the former director of artistic production and associate artistic director for the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York City. He was associated with MTC for over 25 years and helped artistically guide more than 150 new plays and musicals, including the TonyAward and Pulitzer Prize-winning Proof and Doubt, the Tony Award winning Love! Valour! Compassion!, and the musicals A Class Act (Tony Nomination for Best Musical) and Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party. He was instrumental in the rebirth of the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's Cabaret & Performance Conference, and served as its artistic director from 2005 to 2012. Under his tenure the conference developed over 100 new shows, revues, and intimate musicals including [title of show] and The Story of My Life, both of which were produced on Broadway, and Now, Here, Thisproduced by the Vineyard Theatre in New York City this past spring. He is currently developing three additional new musicals as a founding partner of Tritone Productions, including 40 Naked Women, a Monkey, and Me, Nightmare Alley,and Menu. His production of the musical Stormy Weather has been optioned for Broadway and projected for the 2013-14 season.

Film and TV: In Cold Blood, The Model Shop, and M*A*S*H, (he sang 'Suicide is Painless' in the "Last Supper"), Johnny Mann Singer in 'Johnny Mann's Stand Up and Cheer'. Broadway: The Wiz (The Lion), Ain't Misbehavin', Cats (7-1/2 years as Old Deuteronomy). UK: The Genius of Ray Charles (West End and tour). Also,Princess and the Black-Eyed Pea (San Diego), Mary (Goodman Theatre). Ken currently resides in Las Vegas, but sometimes misses New York, Chicago, London and California.

Don Rebic Broadway conductor: Jesus Christ Superstar, Bob Fosse's and Sweet Charity (starring Debbie Allen), Teaneck Tanzi (Deborah Harry and Andy Kaufman); national companies of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Kiss of the Spider Woman, starring Chita Rivera, Cabaret musical director for Barbara Cook, Leslie Uggams, Karen Akers, Victoria Clark and Christine Andreas. "Together", his jazz album, was praised by The New York Times critic Stephen Holden.

Christine Reisner toured internationally with the Nikolais Dance Theatre and has worked with such luminaries as Leonide Massine and Rosella Hightower before returning to NYC revivals of Promises Promises, Can Can and other shows. She starred in Paris at La Nouvelle Eve Cabaret and performed with jazz musicians in concert and in clubs. Presented shows in 2010 and 2011 at NYC's Metropolitan Room. Two albums: "Beginner's Luck" and "Songs of Albert Hague" have received airplay around the country.

The All Star Band:

Jeffrey Klitz (Musical Director & keyboard) is a Yale graduate and highly regarded New York music director, arranger and orchestrator. On Broadway he served as music director/conductor for Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Guys & Dolls, Hot Feet and Lennon, and conductor and choral arranger for Song and Dance and On Your Toes. Other Broadway credits: Chicago, Grand Hotel and Stardust. He has worked with numerous performers, serving as music director and pianist for Judy Collins, Joel Grey, Betty Buckley, Tommy Tune, Judy Kuhn, Carol Hall and Amanda McBroom, among others.

Vito Chiavuzzo (saxophone) is originally from New Jersey, and has played with a variety of legends such as Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Annie Lenox, Lenny Kravitz, and the Mambo Legends Orchestra (formerly the Tito Puente Orchestra). He has toured throughout the Unites States, South America, and Europe, and has had the honor of performing alongside some of the greatest Broadway stars including Nathan Lane, Bernadette Peters, Audra McDonald, George Hearn, Bebe Neuwirth, Norbert Leo Butz, and Tom Wopat.

Ryan Keberle (trombone) has played with jazz greats including Maria Schneider and Wynton Marsalis; hip-hop and R&B superstars like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Alicia Keys; Latin jazz leaders like Pedro Giraudo and Ivan Lins; indie rock ground-breakers such as Sufjan Stevens; or playing in the house band at Saturday Night Live, on the soundtrack of a Woody Allen film, or in the pit for a Tony-winning Broadway musical. Keberle is also a composer/arranger and leads a piano-less quartet, Catharsis, and a little big band, Double Quartet.

Jim Hynes (trumpet/arranger) has played over 50 Broadway shows, including 10 years principal trumpet for CATS, and performed/recorded with a myriad of artists and producers, including: Quincy Jones, Sting, George Michael, James Taylor, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Bob James, Mary J. Blige, Burt Bacharach, Christina Aguilera and Sheryl Crow. Television and motion picture work includes themes for CBS News, The Today Show, Monday Night Football, ABC World News Tonight, The Price Is Right, and the CBS Early Show. Music educators have lauded Jim for his devotion to helping the next generation of talented musicians.

Paul Pizzutti (drums) Paul's career has run the gamut, from bar bands to the New York Philharmonic. He has been the original drummer in numerous Broadway shows. His most recent was The Mystery of Edwin Drood, starring Chita Rivera and Jessie Mueller. Others include On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and CATS. He will be playing for Patti LuPone this November at Carnegie Hall and can be heard live and on cds with Swingadelic, the best little big band in the tri-state area.

Larry Saltzman (things with strings...guitar) has played thousands of sessions for records, films, TV and commercials. He has performed and/or recorded with Bette Midler, The Brecker Brothers, Chris Bottie, Shawn Colvin, Jewel, David Johansen, Michael Stipe, Julia Fordham, Peter Allen, The Golden Palominos, Gordon Edwards and Stuff, Darlene Love, Saturday Night Live ("House Band"), Dr. John, Dion, and Celine Dion. In 2003, Larry toured with Simon and Garfunkel with his fellow Queens natives Paul and Art. His current freelance guitar career is a mix of touring, session work and club gigs.

Dan Willis (reeds) is the newest member of Vision Into Art, playing Saxes, Oboes, and EWI and also a member of the Roland Vasquez Big Band, the Grammy Nominated John Hollenbeck Large Ensemble, and The Gotham Wind Symphony and is a regular addition to the NY Pops and NY Philharmonic. Plays with Michael Brecker, Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Center, Don Henley, and was the featured artist for the Grammy nominated CD "All That I Am." A frequent collaborator to the Baby Einstein Classical Music Educational Series, Dan is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music.
