New Adventures, Martin McCallum and Marc Platt are delighted to announce full casting for the forthcoming national tour and Sadler's Wells Christmas season of EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, devised, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne.

Matthew Bourne said today, "I am delighted today to announce full casting for our upcoming tour and Christmas Season of Edward Scissorhands. New Adventures is currently working with over 80 dancers in three different productions; Swan Lake, currently on its International Tour and making its debut in Singapore this week, Lord of the Flies, making its long awaited sold out London Premiere on Wednesday, and Edward Scissorhands, which began rehearsals today. Such unprecedented activity has resulted in the welcome growth of the New Adventures family and the debuts of many new dancers to the company across these three productions. I'd like to extend a special welcome to all of those dancers and particularly to those that have joined us for the first time today".

New Adventures' magical production of EDWARD SCISSORHANDS has carved a place in the hearts of thousands across the world since its premiere in 2005. After sell out performances in Europe, America, Asia and Australia this spectacular modern fairy tale returns to the UK in its first major revival.

As previously announced, the title role will be played by popular New Adventures star, DOMINIC NORTH, who will be returning to the role than won him a National Dance Award nomination as Best Male Dancer in 2009. Making his debut as Edward this season will be New Adventures rising star, LIAM MOWER. Liam was recently seen in Billy Elliot Live, when he returned to the show that made his name to play "Older Billy". This will be Liam's 5th show with New Adventures, having recently played The Prince in Swan Lake and Count Lilac in Sleeping Beauty.

Playing Edward's sweetheart, Kim Boggs, will be ASHLEY SHAW and KATY LOWENHOFF. Another New Adventures rising star, Ashley has played the Principal roles of Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Sugar in Nutcracker! and the title role in Cinderella (all for New Adventures). Katy has become a popular New Adventures performer through her performances as Clara in Nutcracker! and her created role as "Hibernia" in Sleeping Beauty.

Returning to the production in her original role as Peg Boggs will be New Adventures star, and Associate Artistic Director, ETTA MURFITT. She will be joined by audience favourite, MADELAINE BRENNAN, another original cast member who will also play Peg Boggs, Joyce Monroe and her created role, Tiffany Covitt. A New Adventures star for more than 20 years, SARANNE CURTIN makes a very welcome return to the Company to play the role of Joyce Monroe.

In other featured roles, Kim's "All-American" Jock Boyfriend, Jim Upton, will be played by TOM CLARK, DOMINIC LAMB and LEON MORAN. Bill Boggs, Kim's Father, will be played by TIM HODGES and JACK JONES and Joyce's downtrodden husband, George Monroe will be performed by DANNY COLLINS and GAVIN PERSAND.

Completing the company, and the residents of Hope Springs are GARETH CHARLTON, CINDY CIUNFRINI, TOM DAVIES, PIA DRIVER, NICOLE KABERA, MARI KAMATA, DAISY MAY KEMP, DENA LAGUE, CHRIS NEUMANN and EDWIN RAY.

Making their debuts with New Adventures in Edward Scissorhands are WILL BOZIER, STEPH ELSTOB, HARRY FRANCIS, BETHANY PIKE, KATELYN SEVERN, ALEX STURMAN and KATIE WEBB.

Based on the classic Tim Burton film and featuring the beautiful and unforgettable music by Danny Elfman and Terry Davies, this touching love story tells the bittersweet story of a boy created by a lonely inventor who dies leaving him alone and unfinished. Left with only scissors for hands, Edward must find his place in a strange suburban world where the well meaning community struggle to see past his appearance to the innocence and gentleness within.

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS is devised, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, with music and arrangements by Terry Davies including themes from the motion picture by Danny Elfman. Based on the original motion picture by arrangement with 20th Century Fox, original story and motion picture directed by Tim Burton, original screenplay, story and co-adaptation by Caroline Thompson. Set and Costumes designed by Lez Brotherston, lighting designed by Howard Harrison and sound design by Paul Groothuis.

Matthew Bourne is widely hailed as the UK's most popular and successful choreographer/ director. He is the creator of the world's longest running ballet production (Swan Lake), a five-time Olivier Award winner, and the only British director to have won Tony Awards for both Best Choreographer and Best Director of a Musical. Matthew Bourne has been the Artistic Director of New Adventures (formally Adventures in Motion Pictures) since 1987. During those 25 years he has created new audiences for dance with groundbreaking work both at home and internationally, including Nutcracker!, Swan Lake, Cinderella, The Car Man, Play Without Words, Edward Scissorhands, Dorian Gray and Sleeping Beauty.

Bourne has also choreographed several major revivals of classic musicals, including Cameron Mackintosh's productions of Oliver! (1994 and 2009) and My Fair Lady (2002). In 2004 Bourne co-directed (with Richard Eyre) and choreographed (with Stephen Mear) the West End and Broadway hit, Mary Poppins. Matthew Bourne has twice been nominated as Best Director at the Olivier Awards and his achievements in choreography have been recognized with over 50 international awards including The Evening Standard Award, South Bank Show Award, Time Out Award and the Astaire Award for Dance on Broadway. In the 2001 New Years Honours, Matthew was awarded an OBE for Services to Dance from HM The Queen and in 2003 he was the recipient of the prestigious Hamburg Shakespeare Prize for the Arts. In 2010 he was the first recipient of The British Inspiration Award and this year received the De Valois Award at the National Dance Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Dance. Bourne is an Associate Artist at Sadler's Wells, where New Adventures has been a Resident Company since 2006.
