In his first appearance at the Gallo Center for the Arts since a sold-out show in 2010, comedian Lewis Black will bring his "The Rant is Due" tour to Modesto at 8 pm on Saturday, September 14.
Tickets are $39 to $39 and may be purchased online at GalloArts.org, by calling (209) 338-2100, or at the Gallo Center ticket office at 1000 I Street in downtown Modesto.
Although best known for his live stand-up comedy and regular appearances on televisions programs such as "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "Late Night with David Letterman," Black also is the author of three best-selling books, an accomplished actor in film and television, a philanthropist, and a prolific playwright with more than 40 plays to his credit.
As noted in his biographical materials, Black's audiences "enjoy a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment. Lewis yells so they don't have to. He is that rare comic who can cause an audience to laugh themselves into incontinence while making compelling points about the absurdity of our world." Black's comedy includes adult themes and language.
This performance is sponsored by Budweiser/Delta Sierra Beverage.
