Even the busiest Broadway stars have holiday wishes, and Leslie Odom Jr. recently made time to give the New York Post some intel on what he's hoping to find under the tree come Christmas morning. At the top of the list is a record player; according to Odom Jr., "We're gonna play records - old and new - almost exclusively in our house in 2017." The Tony and Grammy winner also has simpler desires, however, evidenced by the inclusion of items like socks further down the list.
And what if you're hosting the actor during this merry season? Well, you can expect champagne and a good time. Odom Jr. is set to finish his current filming obligations just before Christmas Day, and Odom Jr. says that he plans to focus on food, cheer, and spending as much time with his friends and family as possible.
Odom Jr. is currently making the rounds in support of his new solo album. In addition to his Tony-winning run as Aaron Burr in the original cast of HAMILTON, the star has appeared onstage off-Broadway in TICK, TICK... BOOM! and VENICE, and on Broadway in LEAP OF FAITH.
He is a Grammy Award-winner as a principal soloist on HAMILTON's Original Broadway Cast Recording, which won the 2015 Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Leslie's debut solo album, "Leslie Odom, Jr.," was released in June 2016 on S-Curve Records and quickly rose to the top of the Billboard and iTunes Jazz charts.
