The hilarious new holiday musical Snow Way Out has been selected to close out the York Theatre Company's reading series for 2016 with a one-time only star-studded reading on December 19th at 2:00 PM at The York Theatre, 619 Lexington Ave (E. 54th Street) on the lower level of Saint Peter's Church.
Snow Way Out has book, music, and lyrics by the award-winning team of Becca Anderson, Julian Blackmore, & Dan Marshall (Academia Nuts, 2014 Best New Musical - NYMF) with direction by Thomas Caruso (Southern Comfort, The Public Theater), musical direction by Kevin David Thomas.
The cast includes Olivier-Award Winner Lesli Margherita (Matilda; Dames at Sea), Max Crumm (Disaster; Grease), Lance Roberts (Finding Neverland; Act One), and Aneesh Sheth (Southern Comfort; Bombay Dreams).
Snow Way Out is a madcap four-character holiday romp with an evergreen pop score. Four random strangers rent a rustic cabin each hoping for a solitary holiday. But their plans are dashed when an AirBnB glitch and unforeseen blizzard leave them trapped together. A blackout, holiday spirits, and mysterious body bag converge to prove that even if you can escape your family, you can't escape Christmas. There's SNOW WAY OUT!

Dan Marshall (author) is co-author (with Anderson/Blackmore) of Academia Nuts which won Best New Musical at NYMF 2014. Julian Blackmore (author) is a British composer and musician based in New York City, where he writes, performs and produces music for theatre, film, television, radio and new media. Lesli Margherita (Sherry) - is currently playing Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda the Musical, the role she originated in the Broadway company. She is an Olivier Award winner for Zorro the Musical on the West End, and will next be seen opposite Topher Grace in the film Opening Night.
Lance Roberts (Charlie) - Has been in 6 Broadway shows, 5 Off broadway and 7 1/2 years as Jafar in Disney Aladdin: a Musical Spectacular at California Adventure. Currently in A Christmas Carol at the McCarter.
