Each one's a guilty pleasure! The February 7 cast for the new comedy-improv phenomenon "Villain: DeBlanks" is just as dangerously funny as the previous line-ups. Audiences will be shown the evidence onSunday February 7, at 7:30pm at The Triad, 158 West 72nd Street. The series plays the first Sunday of the month through April 3, 2016.
The February 7 cast includes the salty-tongued Olivier winner
Lesli Margherita ("Matilda," "Dames at Sea"); trigger-happy
Jim Newman (The Village People's Cowboy, "Hands on a Hardbody"); the illegally redheaded
Kate Wetherhead ("Clever Little Lies," co-creator of "Submissions Only"); the painfully funny
Trent Armand Kendall ("Bat Boy," "Into the Woods"); the yes-I'm-gorgeous Hank Morris (Or So the Story Goes web series, Something in the Way music video), and the spaghetti and goofballs champ Eddie Capuano ("My Big Gay Italian Wedding," "Incongruence").
Gamely throwing herself into the mix will be social media maven Laura Heywood (@BroadwayGirlNYC).
Created by the writer/director
Billy Mitchell and presented by
Brenda Braxton, "Villain: DeBlanks" invites comic stage actors to throw caution to the wind as words and concepts chosen by the audience wreak havoc on the story of Philip DeBlanks' untimely demise. A mash-up of "Clue," "Mad Libs" and "Whose Line Is it Anyway?" the Time Out NY Critics' Pick has been called a "rib-tickling theatrical confection" by
broadwayworld.com, and hailed as "off-the-hook inclusive comedy" by KABC-LA.
Among those already having appeared in the six-month residency at The Triad (which began November 1) are the Tony winner
Daisy Eagan; Tony nominees
Geneva Carr and
Keala Settle; Upright Citizens Brigade comedy soldier
Jeff Hiller, as well as audience favorites
Ann Harada,
Nick Cearley and
Hunter Ryan Herdlicka. Scheduled for future shows are
Marc Kudisch,
Lauren Molina,
Alysha Umphress and
Randy Graff.
Upcoming special media guests include the NY Post's
Michael Riedel; NY 1 News Culture Reporter
Stephanie Simon. Past media guests have included Today in New York theater contributor
Steve Schonberg, Theater World Awards honcho
Peter Filichia, and blogger Patrick Hinds.
A portion of the hard-earned proceeds benefit the Humane Society of New York. The shows are presented in association with R.
Erin Craig and
La Vie Productions.
Upcoming performances are Sundays February 7, March 6 and April 3, all at 7:30pm. Tickets are $25, and there is a two-drink minimum. For tickets and information, visit
