Lesli Margherita -- Matilda the Musical's long-running 'Mrs. Wormwood' -- will play her final performance in the Broadway show today, Sept. 6.

Also departing the show after today are Karen Aldridge (Mrs. Phelps), Matt Harrington (Mr. Wormwood), and Allison Luff (Miss Honey). On Tuesday, Sept. 8, Amy Spanger will step in as 'Mrs. Wormwood,' and the other roles will be filled by: Natalie Venetia Belcon (Mrs. Phelps), Allison Case (Miss Honey), and Rick Holmes (Mr. Wormwood).

In May, Margherita broke the news of her departure to fans over Twitter:

I'll say this my tiny sequins. If u wanna see me in @MatildaBroadway u should come before Sept 6...

Next, Margherita will join the new Broadway musical, DAMES AT SEA, which will start previews at the Helen Hayes Theatre on Sept. 24 and open Oct. 22.

Margherita has also starred in the West End's ZORRO, which earned her an Olivier Award in 2009, the national tour of A CHORUS LINE, and regional productions of GREASE, REEFER MADNESS, KISS ME, KATE, MAN OF LA MANCHA, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, SHOWBOAT and more. She also appears in the movie musical LUCKY STIFF and in her cabaret act ALL HAIL THE QUEEN.

Winner of a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards including Best Musical, MATILDA THE MUSICAL is based on the beloved novel by best-selling author Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox). The musical just celebrated two years at Broadway's Shubert Theatre.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL is directed by Tony Award winner Matthew Warchus, who helms this production with a book by Tony Award-winning playwright Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Australian comedian, musician and composer Tim Minchin.

MATILDA is the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
