On Monday, June 19 at 8 p.m., Lineage Entertainment, in association with Steffles Productions, LLC will present Broadway's Philip Hernandez and jazz pianist Jeremy Wall for a return engagement at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street) in New York City.

"Backed up by Renato Thoms on percussion and Micheal Pearce on bass, they bring their unique Latin-flavored jazz take on great Broadway tunes to classics from West Side Story, Sweeney Todd and Peter Pan as well as songs from composers Paul Simon, Cole Porter, Stevie Wonder and others," state press notes.

Hernandez is the only actor in Broadway history to star as the hero Jean Valjean and his nemesis Inspector Javert in the mega-hit Les Misérables. He also created leading roles in the original Broadway casts of Kiss of the Spider Woman and Paul Simon's The Capeman. Hernandez recently completed a fifteen month run starring as Argentinean dictator Juan Peron in Harold Prince's 25th Anniversary North American Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Evita. "The Beat of my Heart" is his critically acclaimed debut solo CD.

Wall was one of the original creators of Spyro Gyra, Billboard's #1 jazz group of the 1980's. Recordings featuring Wall's contributions as composer, arranger, producer or keyboardist have sold over 6 million units worldwide. Wall's solo record, "Cool Running," was selected by WQCD as one of the top 50 jazz albums of the year. His composition "Shakedown" received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Instrumental. He returns to New York for this event fresh from playing his original piano compositions in concert in Europe.

Hernández said of the concert, "We'll explore a song in rehearsal because something about its lyric, rhythm or melody intrigues us. We'll make decisions about structure as we go but within that, we just listen and play together. It's a little like walking a tightrope without a net, but working this way leaves us open to moments of inspiration in performance that are very exciting for us and for our audience."

The cover charge is $10.00 with a 2 drink minimum. For information and reservations, call 212-362-2590.
