Ron Delsener & Marvin Worth Productions will present the New York premiere of Lenny Bruce...In His Own Words-- a new play created verbatim from the controversial satirist's most unforgettable routines -- beginning performances off-Broadway on January 30, 2006 prior to its official press opening February 1 at the Zipper Theatre (336 W. 37 St.) in New York City.

Written and directed by Joan Worth and Alan Sacks of Marvin Worth Productions, the late Marvin Worth produced Tom O'Horgan's smash hit Lenny on Broadway as well as the 1974 Bob Fosse film. Actor Jason Fisher plays Lenny Bruce in this solo play, which "provides a portrait of the iconoclastic comic's life, indeed, in his own words.  'Religions, Inc.,' 'Christ and Moses,' 'Hitler and MCA,' 'How the Law Got Started (Eat, Sleep & Crap)' and other material from Bruce's career in the 50's and 60's comprise the text of the show," according to press notes.

Delsener and Marvin Worth Productions bring Lenny Bruce...In His Own Words to New York direct from a critically-acclaimed, sold-out engagement in Los Angeles, where the Los Angeles Times wrote, "Key riffs and rants from this influential 20th century satirist pour out in slashing fits and starts. Bruce's outrageous takes on everything from racism to facism were/are, at times scarily prescient. Jason Fisher is a remarkable discovery, Bruce remains an icon, and the savage relevence is undeniable."

Scheduled through February 25, the show will perform Mondays through Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $30 Monday through Thursday, and $40 on Fridays and Saturdays. (Opening night, February 1, tickets are $40). Tickets to Lenny Bruce...In His Own Words go on sale starting Friday, December 16 by calling Telecharge at (212) 239-6200 or online at www.telecharge.com (7 days a week, 24 hours a day).

Starting Monday, January 23, tickets can also be purchased at the Zipper Theatre box Mondays through Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Starting January 30, tickets can be purchased at the box office from 2 p.m. to show time.
