Lennon, which is currently running at
the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco California until May 14th has announced a change to its New York plans. The show was next scheduled to run at the Colonial Theater in Boston, Massachusetts from
May 31st - June 25th, and engagement which has now been cancelled.
Instead, the show will make its preview debut at the
Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) on June 28th (instead of the previously announced July 7th). The opening date remains set for Thursday, July 28th. Producer Allan McKeown said today, "After an enthusiastic response from theater goers in San Francisco, we have learned a lot about our show. We made the decision today to forego our Boston engagement and will instead return to the rehearsal room in New York with our cast and creative team to make the changes that will be beneficial to our show. We look forward to arriving on Broadway with a show that we believe will live up to the legend of John Lennon."
Written and directed by Don Scardino, the LENNON creative team also includes Joe Malone (Choreography), Lon Hoyt (Music Supervisor), John Arnone (Scenic/Projection Design), Jane Greenwood (Costume Design), Natasha Katz (Lighting Design), Bobby Aitken (Sound Design), and Harold Wheeler (Orchestrator).
LENNON is produced by arrangement with Yoko Ono.
