Lehmann Maupin Gallery has announced its participation in Frieze Art Fair 2011. Located at Booth F16, Lehmann Maupin will present a selection of new and recent works by Ashley Bickerton, Billy Childish, Tracey Emin, Teresita Fernández, Klara Kristalova, Angel Otero, Tony Oursler, Tim Rollins and K.O.S., Do Ho Suh, and Erwin Wurm.
Highlights include graphite panels by Teresita Fernández, Do Ho Suh's Cause & Effect, a large-scale work composed of over 5,000 figurines, new paintings by Tim Rollins and K.O.S., and Angel Otero, who will have work exhibited at The Arts Club on Dover Street during Frieze Art Fair. Additional highlights include new works by Klara Kristalova and Billy Childish.
Klara Kristalova's figurative sclulptures often mirror imagery from myths and old folk tales, and address themes surrounding oppression, anxiety and the sub-conscious.
Childish's expressionist paintings are influenced by music, his life experiences, and most recently the last climb of mountaineer, Toni Kurz. Both Kristalova and Childish will have inaugural exhibitions at Lehmann Maupin this fall; Klara Kristalova will open Sounds of Dogs and Youth at our Chelsea gallery on 27 October, and Billy Childish will open I Am The Billy Childish at our Lower East Side location on 3 November.
