After an at-capacity show in Seattle headlined by comedian T.J. Miller, Leafly, the world's cannabis information resource, will continue its three-city cannabis comedy tour with shows in Los Angeles and Denver. The Leafly Comedy Tour will be headlined by two top-comedians: starting in Los Angeles with Natasha Leggero (of "Another Period") and continuing in Denver with Michael Ian Black (of "Wet, Hot, American Summer").
"Comedy and cannabis have always been a natural combination," said Paul Campbell, Leafly's Vice President of Marketing. "We're excited to move beyond stereotypical cannabis culture and showcase comedians who appeal to the wide variety of adults who enjoy cannabis - we've come a long way since Cheech and Chong."
Each show is free of charge and requires that fans RSVP, with tickets distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to venue capacity. Local comedians in each city will serve as the opening act for each show. The Los Angeles show will be opened by comedians Joe Mande and Brandon Wardell.
"It signals a change, because I don't usually do this," said T.J. Miller, who plays Erlich Bachman on HBO's "Silicon Valley" and headlined the Seattle show. "I work in a lot of different mediums and a lot of different genres and a lot of different types of audiences. But I think it's getting to the point where it's OK to imagine marijuana as mainstream."
The Los Angeles show will include sponsorship from dispensary CHR and the Denver show will be sponsored by dispensary Native Roots.
